who is your teacher?
Hello! My name is Ms. Erin Hall and I am so excited to work with your 9th and 10th grade students in English this year! I have been teaching high school English for 4 years (3 of them here at Chariho) and I am certain this will be the best year yet.
In addition to teaching English, I am the director of the Chariho Writing Workshop. We meet in Room C8 every Tuesday until 3:05, and students are invited to bring writing from any class for extra help. I also facilitate the CHS Classic Literature club, that meets quarterly to read and discuss a wide variety of literature over tea! I am also the National Honors Society co-advisor with Mrs. Alexandra Romano, and the musical director for the CHS Theatre Company’s spring musical, Hunchback of Notre Dame.
Outside of the classroom, I am the Founder & CEO of the Young Educators Society of Rhode Island - a non-profit organization that supports beginning educators around the state. Through my work with YES RI I have been fortunate to connect with other organizations doing great work in the educational field, and links to my published writing can be found here. I moderate the @Blended_ELA side of the Blended Learning Network, and am in my second year as a Fuse Fellow with the Highlander Institute. My fellowship will occasionally require my absence from our classroom, as I work with other high school teachers to perfect best practices in blended and personalized learning, but I am excited to bring all of those skills and techniques back to your students!
